Both routes climb steadily through a mixed age class of pine forests and offer sweeping views and a true sense of backcountry isolation. In the realm of trail running, the course is fast, with 100% of the course being on dirt forestry roads, but it demands respect, especially on the long Meads Rd climb.
**PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE PRIVATE ROADS - NO ACCESS PERMITTED PRIOR TO THE EVENT**
The 10km event does the same first climb as the 20km - but without having to suffer the second 10!
The course follows dirt forestry roads that undulate for the first 2km before attacking the Meads Rd climb. The 3km climb is a steady 8% grade and is sure to get the legs burning! You then loop back down and return along the undulations back to the Twin Bridges.
The 20km event is the more challenging backcountry race for those keen to get into the clouds!
The course follows dirt forestry roads that undulate for the first 2km before attacking Meads Rd climb, a 3km steady 8% grade section. It then provides a short descent before attacking the second climb up to Goat Saddle. This section takes you through some shale terrain and provides the best views of the course. There is then a 5km long descent down the adequately named 'Long Gully Rd'. The final section is from the Lee Valley back to the Aniseed along 5km of slightly undulating terrain following the beautiful river road returning you to the Twin Bridges.
